Being alone in Perth can get pretty boring, so i'd decided to check out the free events happening around Perth. A few weeks back, I went to an event called:

I want to get something straight here.. I am not GAY. Its a free event.. i am cheap like that.
Anyway, there were heaps of shows and activities related to this festival, however i only went to the parade as i'd never been to one before.
Seeing that it was a free event, i got there early but there were a lot of people there already, looking left

looking right,

I was under the impression that this was going to be a lengthy and well worth it parade.
Unfortunately, what the photos do not show was that there were lesbians kissing and gay people smooching everywhere.. its like i am in a queer world.. its a scary and disturbing sight.. no worries... i guess i am in their turf now. Its surprising that there are so many same sex couple around.

Now i know why they call it pride.. these people have lots of pride.. riding around, shouting that they are proud to be gay. According to the sign on the lorry, apparently Perth is a gay friendly city. All these time while i am in Perth, I was a bit uneasy because i thought what i heard was the Aussie Twang.. but now i know that they sound like that because they are Gay (JK).

Knowing that this event was going to be held at night, i took my camera there.. most of my other photos in this blog was taken with my phone camera.
Unfortunately the camera is too smart for its own good. It set its apperture and shutter speed to capture the most light.. unfortunately this means that anything moving will be blurred.
I took out my phone camera to see how it would look like

Hmm, my phone camera takes better photo than my digital camera...:( either that or i do not know how to set my camera for night shots.

Anyway, the standard of the parade was really low. i was hoping to see boobs on bikes and the like, but all i saw was tackily dressed people and their gay signs on lorries.

There were also cliches.. construction workers.. why are they linked to gayness? Anyway, i still recall an excited gay fellow with his male partner saying that his mechanic is one of the people in the construction suit and he looks hot.. ( yuck.... )

and there were some cross dressing trannies too..... i was hoping to see some hot lesbians.. but luck was not on my side that day.
Anyway, the parade only lasted 30 mins.. pretty short for a parade..the ending was also pretty sucky.. no fireworks or band or any interesting stuff... the spectators just started walking behind the last group in the parade and that ends the night

I was disappointed.. what a waste of bus fare...
